Vibrant Corporation has added a new Application Engineer to its ranks. Richard Livings, who recently earned a Ph.D. in Engineering Mechanics from Iowa State University (ISU), will contribute to Vibrant\u2019s research and development efforts for Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE). Dr. Livings will also work to transition newly developed capabilities into commercial applications for Vibrant\u2019s Process Compensated Resonance Testing (PCRT) services. \u201cRichard is a driven engineer with a potent research acumen and compelling background in quantitative NDE,\u201d said Vibrant Engineering Manager Eric Biedermann. \u201cOur PCRT development projects, PCRT applications, and ultimately our customers will all benefit from his skills and dedication.\u201d<\/p>\n
Dr. Livings also holds M.S. and B.S. degrees in Aerospace Engineering from Iowa State. Prior to joining Vibrant, he worked as a Research Assistant at ISU studying ultrasonic and resonance NDE methods for composite materials, numerical modeling for NDE and mechanics of materials, and NDE for material characterization. Dr. Livings has also been a research intern at NASA, where he evaluated new NDE methods and technologies.<\/p>\n
Vibrant provides Process Compensated Resonance Testing services to the Aerospace and Power Generation industries worldwide through its facilities in the United States and Europe. PCRT applications range from quality assurance and process capability assessment for Original Equipment Manufacturers to in-service structural assessment and life monitoring for Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul organizations.
