Vibrant Corporation has participated with customers Delta TechOps and Honeywell Engines and Systems in an informal briefing of current PCRT applications to representatives of the Federal Aviation Administration. The meeting took place at the NDI Validation Center operated by Sandia National Laboratories for the FAA. Vibrant CEO Lem Hunter said “It was a great meeting. We are grateful to the FAA for the time and effort they have spent reviewing some of our commercial applications of PCRT in aerospace. I am also grateful to Delta and Honeywell for making the trip to Albuquerque to participate in this meeting.”

Applications reviewed by the FAA included component specific testing ranging from turbine blades to hybrid bearings. During the meeting, the parties discussed other testing applications in development, and FAA requirements for widespread approval of PCRT for commercial aerospace. “We are excited about the path ahead. We know what the FAA needs to see, and our customers are on board with the plan to provide the FAA with the data they require” said Hunter.

About Vibrant

Vibrant is a spin off of Mechtronic Solutions, Inc. that has commercialized Process Compensated Resonance Testing (PCRT) for use in the aerospace and power generation industries. The PCRT technology, licensed from Magnaflux Quasar, is a revolutionary non-destructive testing technology that can determine if a component is structurally sound and fit for service. Vibrant has developed PCRT applications focused on the safety critical components found in the aerospace industry. These applications bring the power of PCRT to bear on new product quality control and in-service product degradation tracking. Vibrant is now performing testing services for several major aerospace manufacturers and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) firms.
