Vibrant has earned a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I contract (number: FA9453-19-P-0540) with the Ogden Air Logistics Center (OO-ALC). The program will apply PCRT’s proven effectiveness in detecting heat damage to test titanium torque tubes (part of aircraft braking systems). The Air Force is looking to replace its current method of visual inspection and will be evaluating how PCRT and a handful of other NDT methods compare to mechanical performance of heat damaged parts. The Phase I program scope is nine months and $150,000.

“This project will be a great opportunity to demonstrate how PCRT can help the Air Force address ongoing and future sustainment problems” said Eric Biedermann, Vibrant’s Engineering Manager.
