Vibrant Corporation and a team of companies (Mechatronic Solutions, Inc., Fiore Industries, and ZTEC Instruments) was awarded a 2010 NMSBA Innovation Award for PCRT. The assistance provided by the NMSBA program allowed Vibrant and its partners to work with Sandia labs to run comparative studies on PCRT against other inspection methods for turbine blades.

Vibrant CEO Lem Hunter said “The ability to work directly with Sandia’s aerospace experts has helped us to better understand our market and the opportunities it holds”. Since working with Sandia, Vibrant has earned FAA approval for inspection of turbine blades for exposure to excessive operating temperatures using PCRT, creating new business opportunities for Vibrant, commercial benefits for the partner companies, and cost savings to the aviation industry.

About Vibrant

Vibrant Corporation has commercialized Process Compensated Resonance Testing (PCRT) for use in the aerospace and power generation industries. The PCRT technology, licensed from Magnaflux Quasar, is a revolutionary non-destructive testing technology that can determine if a component is structurally sound and fit for service. Vibrant has developed PCRT applications focused on the safety critical components found in the aerospace industry. These applications bring the power of PCRT to bear on new product quality control and in-service product degradation tracking. Vibrant is now performing testing services for several major aerospace manufacturers and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) firms.
